Animal print has been the “it” trend this fall/winter, but one that has stand out above all is the snake print. As a leopard cousin, the reptile print has taken the scene around the net and specially instagram, where bloggers and non-bloggers have been spotting it out like this season must have.

Snake print is consider a neutral, so it can be paired with almost anything, from single colors to  print fabrics, it will all depend on how much of a statement you are willing to create.

For some people it can be perceived as too loud or too bold,  sometimes  a bit overwhelming, but if you layer it with simple pieces the result is more subtle than you think and at the same time it will update your basics.

In this case I decided to pair it with an off the shoulder sweater in black and short booties in the same color, leaving extra room for this snake print skirt to be the main accent of my outfit. The idea is to make it blend with the rest of garments while remaining the centre piece.

What I love about snake print is the difference shades it can have, from earthy tones like this one, to greys and blacks and browns, reds, you name it! Every single shade is out there. Its super fun and trendy, so don’t be afraid, as this trend is here for a good amount of time.

If you’re still undecided but looking for some inspiration I have pulled out some items to shop for:

I you don’t want to get wild, pair it  with a white or black top, some boots or sandals and you are set!

Maybe you are ready for the whole look but want something subtle, then this is a great choice. Also with a pair of high boots or sandals to complete the entire outfit.

Now, if you like color, then a pair of red trousers is the perfect match. To let it be the main piece, pair it with a black or white top so you don’t feel like having all eyes on you.

This top is perfect to be layered with chunky cardigan and a pair of skinny jeans or pencil skirt.

Theres plenty of possibilities to wear and show your snake print. I you don’t feel to wear it on you there’s always accessories to bring that touch to your outfit. How about a pair of boots or a reptile handbag?

I understand some of you could be skeptical with this print, but as I stated above, there’s also a  way to play it safe and feel comfortable. I personally love the fact that’s a neutral and can be paired with almost anything, but is up to you where to cross the line of feeling  too much.

Hope you have fun shopping and gives this post a like!

Lova
